Jeffrey Wu, CEO of Gear Industries, a Hong Kong-based company specializing in innovative defense solutions, has announced the company’s plans to expand operations in the UAE and the Middle East.

According to Amac News, Wu explained that his company will strengthen its presence and support the defense sector with advanced technologies by setting up a regional office.
Gear Industries, which is the first company from Hong Kong to participate in IDEX 2025, said that the company has showcased about 11 innovative defense-military products, including the world’s lightest ballistic plate, which has been selected as one of the top 20 innovations in the IDEX Innovation Path 2025.
Mr. Wu added that the ballistic plate is made of GearXFiber material, which is known for its exceptional performance and flexibility and complies with international standards such as NIJ and GA.
He explained that the plate weighs only 500 grams at NIJ IIIA protection level, while the Level IV plate weighs only 1.9 kilograms, offering unparalleled protection with minimal weight. The Gear Industries CEO also expressed confidence that the UAE market has promising potential for the development of innovative military-defense solutions.
