EDGE, a leading Emirati defense technology company, and Naval Group, a France-based international player in the maritime defense sector, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential collaboration opportunities in advanced naval warfare systems.
EDGE and Naval Group to collaborate on advanced naval combat systems
According to Amac News, the MoU, signed at the IDEX 2025 exhibition, is designed to meet the needs of modern navies around the world.
Hamid Al-Marar, CEO and Managing Director of EDGE, said that the company is strongly focused on developing advanced naval systems for national defense needs in the UAE and military forces abroad.
He added that this strategic partnership with Naval Group will create valuable opportunities to leverage experience and expertise and help expand into untapped markets for commercial success and sustainable growth.
Pierre-Eric Pommelet, President and CEO of Naval Group, also said that the group has successfully delivered two GOWIND-class combat ships to the UAE Navy in 2023 and 2024, and has entered the National Battle Management System, which is a symbol of the UAE's sovereignty.
Pommelet added that the group now wants to develop cooperation in the maritime domain with EDGE to jointly capture new market shares.
