According to Amac News, the partnership is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced air delivery support services in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and focuses on improving military and humanitarian capabilities.
The MoU is a significant step in strengthening the UAE’s defense infrastructure and combines Calidus’ expertise in regional manufacturing and market knowledge with Safran’s leading technologies in aeronautics, navigation and aerospace systems to deliver advanced air delivery solutions.
The collaboration will focus on the research, development and deployment of advanced air delivery systems, optimizing logistics for a variety of operations, from military missions to crisis relief.
“Working with Calidos on this project allows us to strengthen our commitment to the UAE and the MENA region,” said Frank Sado, CEO of Safran. “Through this collaboration, we aim to provide advanced technologies that enhance operational effectiveness and support the region’s growing defense and humanitarian needs.”
The air delivery services market in the MENA region is growing rapidly due to increasing military logistics needs and expanding humanitarian missions in the region. This collaboration can be useful in responding to these needs.
Both companies will showcase the results of this collaboration at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, showcasing their joint air delivery solutions to global defense leaders and industry stakeholders.
