Russia announced that the BRICS countries will account for more than half of global GDP in the next 10-15 years.
According to Amac News, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with the Russia-24 television channel that the BRICS countries are rapidly emerging as dominant players in the global economy, and it is predicted that their collective GDP will exceed half of the world's economic output in the near future.
Novak added: "With a share of about 35 percent, BRICS has a high potential for global GDP, and this share is growing every year."
He specifically mentioned Brazil and China, which, as the leading countries in this group, will make a significant contribution to this increase in global GDP.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "We expect that in the next 10-15 years, the share of the BRICS countries' GDP in the total global economy will be more than half."
According to the interview published on the BRICS portal, this promising outlook reflects the growing economic weight of the BRICS countries, whose output now exceeds that of the G7.
Originally composed of five emerging economic powers including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the BRICS group has significantly expanded its membership in 2024 to include countries such as Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
