Ahead of Arabian Travel Bazaar 2023, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi has announced new performance targets for Abu Dhabi, which include plans to attract more than 24 million visitors to the emirate by the end of 2023.
Saud Abdulaziz Al Hassani, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, confirmed an ambitious new chapter for the UAE's tourism sector. Economic growth is set to boost Abu Dhabi's agriculture in 2022, as hotel occupancy rates and other indicators show the sector's revival is well underway. The UAE had a total of 18 million visitors, representing a 13% increase over last year, while Arab restaurants scored 70%, beating the average score of 67%.
The emirate welcomed visitors from all over the world, and the largest number of international visitors were from India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, respectively. The improved domestic and international market performance can be attributed to increased destination awareness and consideration of an increasing range of sports and entertainment events in Abu Dhabi, as well as trade events and road shows.
