The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates announced that Abdullah Balalaa, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability of the UAE, participated in the opening of Riviera 2024.

According to Amac News: The ministry said that Balalaa spoke in a panel titled "Ministerial Dialogue - Investing in Energy Security: Strategic Energy Partnerships, a Path to a Green Transition and Effective Economic Cooperation in Unstable Times" with Environment Minister Theodoros Skilakakis. And Greek Energy has participated.
During the panel, Balalaa discussed the important international role of the UAE in the energy sector, such as oil and gas and renewable energy.
He also pointed out the important role of Greece, both as a strategic partner for the UAE and as a global player in energy security.
He also invited Greece to participate in the Mohammed bin Zayed water project, which aims to encourage all institutions in all countries to promote water desalination technologies.
During the visit, an agreement between GEK Terna Group of Companies and Masdar, an UAE-owned renewable energy company, was announced, one of the largest commercial deals in the history of the Athens Stock Exchange, worth 3.2 billion euros.
