BP has announced that it has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) to join an existing consortium consisting of Masdar, Hassan Allam and Infinity Power to explore the potential development of a multiphase green hydrogen (gH2) project in Egypt.

According to Amac News: BP said that it will act as the main developer and operator of the project on behalf of the consortium.
According to bp, the partners are combining their gH2 related projects in Egypt and will also explore the potential of a large-scale, multi-phase project to develop gH2 and its derivatives with a focus on export.
The newly formed consortium has signed a framework agreement (FWA) with the Egyptian government to begin conducting a series of studies and activities to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of the project.
The FWA agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Egypt-EU investment conference in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Dr. Mohammad Shakir, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Resources, and Dr. Halle Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development.
