The United Arab Emirates has announced that it participated in the third meeting of the Sherpas of the Group of 20 (G20) held in Rio de Janeiro.
According to Amac News: Saleh Al Suwaidi, the UAE Ambassador to Brazil and Sous Sherpa of Group 20, headed the United Arab Emirates delegation in this meeting.
In this meeting, developments in the G20 financial track were emphasized, as well as the progress achieved in the working group to create a global alliance to fight hunger and poverty, as well as a special group to fight climate change.
In this meeting, the role of the Group of 20 in reducing the geopolitical tensions witnessed by the international community was also discussed. In addition, Al Suwaidi emphasized the UAE's commitment to international cooperation and partnerships to achieve sustainable peace.
The UAE places great emphasis on active participation in international forums and organizations, engaging in constructive dialogue, which is fostered through active platforms that represent emerging and developing economies globally.
The United Arab Emirates participated in this meeting after receiving the invitation from Brazil's G20 presidency. This is the third consecutive year that the UAE participates in this meeting.
During its participation as a guest country in France in 2011, Saudi Arabia in 2020, Indonesia in 2022 and in India in 2023, the UAE has shown significant and effective contributions in line with the priorities of the Group of 20.
