The director of the Louvre Abu Dhabi said that the museum is a gateway for cultural dialogue and an outstanding tourism and heritage landmark.
According to Amac News: Manuel Rabate, director of the Abu Dhabi Louvre Museum, said that this museum has attracted five million visitors since its opening in 2017.
According to him, this museum with an area of about 24,000 square meters is the first global museum of its kind in the Arab world.
He added that the museum, which was designed by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel, is an example of the flourishing cultural and artistic ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.
He said that this year, this museum has exhibited about 6000 works of art by more than 313 artists from different cultures. These works of art, from prehistoric pieces to modern creations, are displayed side by side.
He also noted that this museum has hosted important exhibitions such as "Cartier, Islamic inspiration and modern design" and "From Kalila and Dimena to La Fontaine: a journey among legends".
He noted that since the opening of the museum in 2017, it has received five million visitors, of which UAE nationals and residents account for 28 percent, while international visitors account for 72 percent.
He noted that the museum will soon announce an impressive collection of loaned collections for display this year.
