The eighth Xposure International Photography Festival (Xposure 2024) will be held from February 28 to March 5 at Expo Center Sharjah.
According to Amac: This highly anticipated event, the cornerstone of the global photography and cinematography community, promises an immersive journey through a collection of 2,500 photos.
Beyond the visual appeal, the festival offers a rich content program of over 200 events.
From workshops and seminars to film screenings and competitions, Xposure 2024 combines art, education and entertainment to offer attendees a holistic experience.
A multifaceted program
Organized by the Sharjah State Media Bureau (SGMB), the seven-day exhibition serves as a melting pot of 400 photographers from over 50 countries.
Among them are 150 respected lensmen, including such notables as David Hume Kennerly, Pete Souza, Z Nelson, Rick Smolen, Nicole Tong, Eric Miola and Craig Perry.
The festival also features a trade fair that showcases products from more than 18 leading brands worldwide.
Various exhibition sections
Xposure exhibitions are thoughtfully curated into categories and include 25 sections on documentary and photojournalism, 15 sections on nature and wildlife, travel and adventure, urban and street life, 10 sections on fine arts and creative expression, 5 sections on art. Portraits, sports, technical and experimental, and action are dedicated.
Empowerment workshops, enlightening conversations
Photography enthusiasts, both experienced and aspiring, can participate in a host of world-class opportunities to hone their creative skills.
More than 66 workshops, discussions and programs led by 27 international experts, along with 10 masterclasses by Adobe Labs, more than 34 inspirational talks, 45 focus group discussions, and 50 portfolio review sessions, as well as visitors a great chance to Gain insight from industry leaders to refine their skills and advance their artistic and professional journeys.
Enlightening documentaries
In keeping with its commitment to education and enlightenment, Xposure will screen 27 short and feature-length documentaries during the first three days of the festival, from February 28 to March 1.
Meanwhile, the photo exhibition presents collectors and art enthusiasts with a treasure trove of more than 2,500 valuable images, worth a total of more than Dh22 million, and an opportunity to secure commemorative autographs from the photographers themselves.
