Amac News: The events, organised by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), were held at the DEWA Sustainability and Innovation Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
The event was addressed by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, DEWA CEO and President, and IRENA Director General. The event was also attended by Nawal Al Hassouni, UAE Permanent Representative to IRENA, and several other high-ranking guests and delegations.
The two platforms, launched by the UAE, facilitated knowledge exchange and enhanced networking opportunities among member states and relevant partners in the field.
The Renewable Dialogue provides an opportunity for experts and stakeholders to share their experiences and expertise, as well as showcase projects and best practices in the renewable energy sector.
The Women in Diplomacy event also addressed the key role of women in the renewable energy sector, and created knowledge exchange and partnerships that will accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
In his speech, the UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment stressed the importance of collective action to address the growing climate crisis, saying that clean energy solutions offer the world a path to achieving sustainable and low-carbon energy security.
The CEO of DEWA also highlighted the organization’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in a clean energy future, and emphasized the importance of efforts to make Dubai a global icon for renewable and clean energy.
The Director-General of IRENA also commended the continued cooperation of the UAE Permanent Mission, noting the role of renewable energy as a key factor in improving lives and livelihoods, as well as the commitment to gender equality in the energy transition.
