According to Amac News: The Ministry of Oil and Gas of India has published a statement that the Minister of Oil and Gas Hardeep Singh Puri has discussed with Haitham Al-Ghais, the Secretary General of OPEC, regarding the continuation of partnership and cooperation with OPEC.
The statement said that Puri and Al-Ghais had a conversation over the phone. India's oil and gas minister emphasized the importance of balancing market stability and oil affordability.
According to the statement, in this conversation, views were also exchanged on recent trends in the global oil markets and their consequences on international energy stability.
India is the second export destination for the entire OPEC. According to the final statistics for the financial year 2022-23, India has imported crude oil, liquid gas, liquid natural gas and petroleum products from OPEC countries to the amount of 120 billion dollars.
