The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the acting government of Afghanistan announced that Hedayatullah Badri, the acting minister of the ministry, met and discussed with the Minister of Mines and Exploration of the country during his visit to Uzbekistan.

According to Amac News, the ministry announced in a press release on Monday, February 24, that Badri emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in the field of mining during this meeting.
The acting minister of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan also visited Uzbek state-owned companies and discussed and exchanged views on joint investment opportunities in the mining sector of Afghanistan.
It was said that these meetings were held with the aim of strengthening economic relations and developing joint projects in the field of mining extraction and processing between the two countries.
Earlier, Nuruddin Azizi, the acting minister of industry and commerce of the acting government of Afghanistan, in a meeting with the Minister of Mines and Geology of Uzbekistan, called for the country's investment in Afghanistan's oil, gas and copper mines.
In this meeting, the signing of an investment protection agreement between the two countries was emphasized and it was proposed that Uzbekistan invest in oil and gas mines in northern Afghanistan as well as in copper mines in Ghazni and Herat provinces.
In addition, the establishment of mineral processing plants in Afghanistan was among other topics raised in the meeting.
