Officials in the Ministry of Public Works of the acting government of Afghanistan announced that Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada, Deputy Director of the Railways Department of the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan, has traveled to Turkmenistan at the head of a delegation.
Afghanistan and Turkmenistan sign agreements worth $7 million
According to Amac News, Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesman for the ministry, announced today, Thursday, February 27, that during this visit, the two countries signed three memoranda of understanding (MOU) worth $7 million.
According to the announcement, these agreements include the development of the Herat-Torghandi station, the completion of the remaining 10 kilometers of the Aqina-Andkhoy railway line, and the study and detailed design of the 55 kilometers of the Andkhoy-Sheberghan railway line.
The announcement added that after the signing of these agreements, the development contracts for these projects between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan will also be signed soon so that their practical work can begin.
