According to Amac News: The Asian Development Bank said at the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia that the bank will provide more than 5 billion dollars to the most vulnerable people in Asia and the Pacific.
Georgia hosted the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank, which was held from May 2 to 5, with the theme "Bridge to the Future".
In this meeting, ministers of finance, heads of the central bank, senior government officials and representatives from the private sector, universities, media and civil society from 68 members of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia have participated.
ADF is the ADB's largest source of financial assistance for operations in its poorest and most vulnerable developing member countries and is replenished every 4 years.
ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa said: "The grants demonstrate the continued cooperation of ADF donors with ADB to address the pressing development challenges of those most in need."
ADF 14 prioritizes dedicated assistance to Small Island Developing States, which are particularly vulnerable to climate change, and to countries in fragile and conflict-affected situations.
More than $2.5 billion, or 51 percent, of this repayment is funded by donor contributions, including two new countries: Armenia and Georgia.
