According to Amac News: Mubadala Energy has said that this discovery is the second deep water well operated by the company.
According to the company's report, Tangkulo-1 was discovered up to a depth of 3,400 meters in 1,200 meters of water only a few months after the discovery of the Layaran-1 well, South Andaman.
Tangkulo-1 well with 80m of gas column in a good quality Oligocene sandstone reservoir through an extensive data collection campaign that includes acquisition of a complete 72m core, wireline logging, sidewall core, pressure and fluid sampling. Confirmed.
Using a new drill stem test (DST) design, the well successfully flowed 47 mmcfd with excellent gas quality and 1,300 barrels of condensate. The estimated capacity of the well is 80-100 cubic millimeters per day and more than 2000 barrels of condensate.
With an 80% working interest in South Andaman, Mubadala Energy is the largest net acreage holder in the region.
Together with Layaran-1, this discovery adds to the material's prospective volume and provides a platform for Mubadala Energy's continued organic growth in the region through further exploration and appraisal activities.
