The Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Organization (ADAFSA) has announced that Abu Dhabi is going to host the World Food Security Summit for the first time.
According to Amac News: For the first time, this summit is scheduled to be held at the Abu Dhabi ADNEC Exhibition Center on November 26 and 27, 2024.
Organized by the ADNEC Group in partnership with ADAFSA and the F&B Manufacturing Group (FBMG) as a knowledge partner, the summit aims to encourage dialogue and action steps towards creating a sustainable global food system and eradicating hunger.
The summit seeks to attract a range of experts and decision makers to discuss innovative solutions to strengthen the global food security system.
It supports international efforts to end hunger and promotes the UAE's position as a platform for managing dialogue, debate and initiatives on global food security.
Ahead of the summit, ADAFSA will organize a series of events and initiatives in the UAE. The aim of these plans is to encourage the participation of public and private sectors, civil society organizations and various social groups.
The National Food Security Strategy 2051 aims to make the UAE a global GFSI leader by 2051. This goal will be achieved through the development of a comprehensive national system based on the possibility of sustainable food production using advanced technologies, increasing local production, global partnerships to diversify food sources and other means.
It strengthens global efforts aimed at ensuring food and water security, while innovatively addressing the global challenges of food insecurity and water scarcity.
The complex is expected to contribute approximately 90 billion dirhams to Abu Dhabi's GDP and attract 128 billion dirhams in investment by 2045.
